Metin Çorabatır is a policy consultant and an expert on asylum and migration issues, and is President of the Research Center on Asylum and Migration (IGAM), an Ankara-based think tank and NGO established in 2013. Previously, he worked for 18 years as the spokesperson and External Relations Officer of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Office in Turkey, until his retirement in 2013.
Mr. Çorabatır also has 18 years of experience in journalism, working for print media and TV as a diplomatic correspondent, foreign news correspondent, news editor, and producer.
Among his recent publications are a report that he coedited by the Oxford Refugee Studies Centre that maps the level of access to education for young Syrian refugees in Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq; a mapping of the data available on Turkish migration; and a template for Turkey’s annual migration report for the Directorate General of Migration Management.
Mr. Çorabatır is a PhD candidate at Bogazici University in Istanbul. His dissertation is on the role of international organizations in the reform processes of national asylum systems.

Who is Coşkun Aral?
Coşkun Aral was born in 1956 in Siirt. He started his professional career as a press photographer in 1974. His name spread across the globe via Sipa Press thanks to his photographs of Turkey’s “Bloody May 1st, 1977”. He worked as Sipa Press’ Turkey reporter as well as as a freelance photographer for a number of Turkish media outlets, such as Turkish News Agency, Milliyet and Hürriyet. He started photographing wars in countries such as Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland, Chad and the Far East in 1980. In 1980 he conducted the first ever interview in history with the hijackers of a hijacked airplane. He is the founder of İZ TV, the first ever Turkish documentary channel. Aral continues to work as a war photographer for periodicals such as Time, Newsweek, Paris-Match, Stern and Epoca. He also continues to work as the producer of his TV documentary program, Haberci.

His spirit, does not fit into the economy, has led him to play critical roles in informatics and technology. For example, Şeref Oğuz, who signed the world’s first virtual rally (1996), produced numerous articles, writings and interviews on “freedom and virtual culture”. Who is Bülent Şenver?
Bülent Şenver, the grandfather of Turkish banking, introduced many innovations to Turkish banking systems. The Founding President of Türklider Center, Şenver gives lectures on “Electronic Banking”, “Active/Passive Management in Banks”, “Investment Banking”, “Commercial Banking” and “Management Ethics” at Bosphorus and Bilgi Universities. From 1994 to 2000, he served as the chairman of the Turkish-American Business Association (TABA-AmCham), as a member on the board of directors and executive board of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC), and was its treasurer during the same period. He was the founding president of the Ethical Values Foundation of Turkey (TEDMER).
